December 17th, 2010 by kinderpal mickster · 24 Comments

Hey Look! It’s an early Christmas present from one of Kindertrauma’s most favorite folks on Earth, the incredible MICKSTER! MICKSTER has rounded up 10 images from 10 of her favorite Holiday specials and she wants YOU to identify them. Don’t sweat, she’ll be on hand to light the way in case you get lost in a blizzard! Good Luck!

    6- NESTER THE LONG-EARRED DONKEY ?

  • 2 Dylan Donnie-DukeNo Gravatar // Dec 17, 2010 at 9:18 am

These are all educated guesses with a couple I am almost 100% positive on.
    3.)Twas the Night before Christmas
4.) How the Grinch Stole Christmas
5.)Santa Claus is Coming to Town
    6.)Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
8.) The Year without a Santa Claus

Craig is right on the money with Nestor for #6
Dylan has it right with The Grinch on #4
    That’s all at this point!

I don’t even want to think about #6! Makes me cry.

I don’t know any of these! Just wanted to post cuz The Mickster RULEZ!

Is 7 “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town”? Isn’t that the castle of the Winter Warlock?

Man, I’m so ashamed I don’t know these. I bought the entire set on DVD and watched them a gazillion times because they were only on once a year when I was a kid.

  • 6 EegahIncNo Gravatar // Dec 17, 2010 at 11:13 am

Man, these all run together. How about…

    3. Frosty The Snowman
    6. Santa Claus Is Comin To Town
    7. Rudolph’s Shiny New Year
    8. Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer
    10. Year Without A Santa Claus

    Maybe?

  • 7 jimbo65No Gravatar // Dec 17, 2010 at 11:16 am

isn’t 7 rudolph the rednose reindeer?

  • 8 Tony RedmanNo Gravatar // Dec 17, 2010 at 12:00 pm

OK, we’ve talked about it among ourselves, and this is what we’ve come up with.

    1. Twas the Night Before Christmas
    3. Frosty the Snowman
    8. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (due to the red glare toward the middle of the picture)
    9. Santa Claus Is Coming to Town
    10. Year Without a Santa Claus

We’re just guessing on a couple of these (and I know some of these were duplicated from other guesses), but I wanted to put it all in one spot!

Amanda, thanks! I think you rule too! BTW, I haven’t watched Nestor (except to get this capture) in several years because it makes me cry.
EegahInc, you are correct on #10 being The Year Without a Santa Claus!
Jimbo65, you nailed #7 Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer!
    So y’all have identified
    #4 The Grinch
    #6 Nestor (the traumatizing)
#7 Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (starring Santa as an a-hole)
#10 The Year Without a Santa Claus

    5: Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas?
7: Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town?
    8: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer?

  • 11 JergyNo Gravatar // Dec 17, 2010 at 1:01 pm

    #2 Frosty the Snowman

I think #1 is ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

I’m going to take a stab at
    #3 Frosty’s Winter Wonderland

#9 Santa Claus is Coming to Town (it’s the Winter Warlock’s castle, right?)

  • 12 LeobenNo Gravatar // Dec 17, 2010 at 1:38 pm

I got the easier ones already identified. #7, from ‘Rudolph,’ is King Moonracer’s castle on the Island of Misfit Toys, and yeah, Santa’s an a-hole throughout this – comes off like a union-busting CEO with his elves.
Anyway, curious about #6. It looks like a grave. Did Lucio Fulci ever make a Christmas special?

I love these images so much Mickster! I hated putting the numbers on them. (Luckily I still have the originals) I think #9 is my favorite. I’d like to make it into a Christmas card.

  • 14 JergyNo Gravatar // Dec 17, 2010 at 1:51 pm

#8 has got to be a Rudolph one. So I’m thinking just EegahInc’s guess was just swtiched. Since #7 is traditional Rudolph then is #8 Rudolph’s Shiny New Year? The only other is Rudolph’s Christmas in July.

  • 15 micksterNo Gravatar // Dec 17, 2010 at 2:09 pm

Jergy, yay! You are correct on all your guesses!
#1 ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas
    #2 Frosty the Snowman
    #3 Frosty’s Winter Wonderland
    #8 Rudolph’s Shiny New Year
#9 Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town
    I will give a hint on #5: Groundhog…

  • 16 EegahIncNo Gravatar // Dec 17, 2010 at 2:15 pm

It’s not Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas, is it? I haven’t seen that in forever.

  • 17 JergyNo Gravatar // Dec 17, 2010 at 2:17 pm

I was thinking Emmet too! But I didn’t think Frogtown Hallow had a protective wall around it. Perhaps they too were trying to be tough on immigration.

Mickster these were great. Thanks for doing it, and of course to the boys for putting it up!

EegahInc & Jergy, I see why you would think that, but here is another clue: Rankin Bass. I thought #5 was going to be the most difficult one today.
Thanks for the kind words Jergy! I had a lot of fun picking these out.

    1. Twas the Night Before Christmas
    2. Frosty the Snowman
    3. Frosty’s Winter Wonderland
    4. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
    5. Jack Frost
    6. Nestor the Long Eared Christmas Donkey
    7. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
    8. Rudolph’s Shiny New Year
    9. Santa Claus is Coming to Town
    10. The Year Without a Santa Claus

  • 20 micksterNo Gravatar // Dec 17, 2010 at 5:28 pm

Thanks for this Holiday Funhouse Mickster!

Wish I didn’t know the answers so I could have played along! That’s OK though, gave me a chance to do some Xmas shopping today!

Thanks to all who participated and great job done by all

  • 22 micksterNo Gravatar // Dec 17, 2010 at 6:32 pm

OMG! Tony Redman, I am so sorry I didn’t see your answers earlier! You were right on 1, 9, and 10! Oops!

  • 23 unkle lanciferNo Gravatar // Dec 17, 2010 at 8:01 pm

    Mickster,

Redman’s comment didn’t get through on this end very quickly…so that wasn’t your fault it was ours!

First time Facebook commenters have to wait for confirmation before they appear.

    Sorry about that!

That’s OK. I was at work, so I didn’t have time to officially register on the board. Glad to know we were able to figure a few of them out (and good job for fooling us on #8). I had forgotten there was more than one Rudolph special!
