Traumafessions :: Reader Michel Z. on Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction; ep. “The Mirror of Truth”

June 13th, 2009 by aunt john · 8 Comments

3 a.m. and I couldn’t sleep, I was alone in my bedroom. I turned on my T.V. and I find this show called BEYOND BELIEF: FACT OR FICTION, where five weird tales are depicted, and in the end, the host tells whether they were true stories or not.

I handled the first four stories quite well, although they were pretty scary. And by the end I was getting sleepy; my mind already half asleep.

And then, the final story, where a beautiful but vain and shallow lady gets punished by a witch; the lady now has a skin disease and looks horrible. She goes to the doctor covered with a mask. By the end of the story, the girl reveals her face. WOAH. My heart instantly turned at full speed, I jumped from my bed: one of the scariest moments I’ve ever had.

I couldn’t find it on youtube; it’s the 32 episode, from the third season, the short is called THE MIRROR OF TRUTH.

Wow! I completely forgot about Beyond Belief! That sounds like an awesome episode, I’ll browse around for it.

BEYOND BELIEF!!! That was my favorite show when I was a kid. The scariest episode for me was the one about the kid with a monster in his closet.
What’s better than a scary story based on a true event?

They used to have every episode on Youtube… but we all know how that usually ends.

I had never heard of this show before, but Chiller was having a marathon of it last night.  AWESOME show.  Like the cheaper trashier version of Unsolved Mysteries.

Zoemoss, I did see the closet monster episode last night, but I didn’t see whether or not it was true.

Prof, it said it was true. Little far fetched, but hey… who am I to judge?

I’ve only seen one segment of this show about this guy finding a little girl hiding in a closet, who says somebody is after her. The guy then goes for help after hearing banging on the walls, but comes back later only to find the skeleton of the girl.
I’d like to watch more episodes…especially the one mentioned in this Traumafession. I want to see what her face looked like.

I remember that one! She looked like Bones’ old girlfriend-cum-saltsucking-monster from Star Trek.
