=( Today is indeed a sad day. R.I.P Mr. Swayze.

I loved all of Patrick Swayze’s movies and grew up watching them. I will really miss him. He played all types of acting roles excellently. R.I.P.

Ghost & Dirty Dancing. Great, fun flicks.
I listened to the soundtracks for Dirty Dancing quite a lot in the late 80s, including his “She’s Like The Wind”.

The very definition and essence of cool. I am sad he left us so soon.

Well, watching this won’t feel the same anymore.

I am so sad about this! During my divorce in 2000, I watched Dirty Dancing at least 20 times. It was such a comfort movie for me. I guess I will have to take Patrick’s advice from Red Dawn and, “Let it turn.”

I would like to say that Mr. SWAYZE‘s nuanced performance in ROAD HOUSE has been huge influence on my life… especially in the “Breaking hearts and breaking heads” department, and I honestly included the ad for THE OUTSIDERS in the PLANT PEOPLE post just ’cause he was on my mind… but when it comes to matters of romance… well… PATRICK… I too am just a fool to believe!

“Be nice…until it’s no longer time to be nice.”
Here’s to a man who could channel Eve Arden as well as Eve herself. You’re free from pain now, Patrick…

There will be no dirty dancing tonight – only a slow trot as we contemplate our loss.
Farewell to one of the finest actors of the past few decades, and to a nice guy by all accounts. I’m so sad that he had to suffer, but I prefer to remember the joy he brought us with his films, which will stay with us forever.
To paraphrase Mr. Swayze’s song: He’s like the wind.

I never really liked DIRTY DANCING but I find myself watching it when its on TV once and awhile because Patrick Swayze had THE perfect body in that movie! Not too skinny, not too ‘pumped’, just beautifully sculpted. I find myself just looking at the screen and saying “Yowza!”
By the way, I wish he had sung more! She’s Like The Wind was GOOD!

Patrick Swayze’s movies were always entertaining whether they were high quality or total cheese. He was handsome, multi-talented and always struck me as very nice and gracious man. The fact that he and his wife were together and going strong for 34 years and counting is just amazing in our day and age. R.I.P. Patrick.
