Christopher George Funhouse!

February 25th, 2011 by unkle lancifer · 26 Comments

Today’s Funhouse will be a breeze because all of the images poised for identification have one amazing thing in common, they all involve CHRISTOPHER GEORGE! That is because today is the day that CHRISTOPHER GEORGE was born and we’ll be celebrating that fact all day. I can’t host a party this big alone so I asked our local CHRISTOPHER GEORGE expert Amanda Reyes of MADE FOR TV MAYHEM to join me. In fact, if you want to learn more about the man, the myth, and the legend you can allow Amanda to school ya’ some HERE!

Can you name the CHRISTOPHER GEORGE classics below? If not, feel free to leave a comment about your warmest CHRISTOPHER GEORGE memory instead. Good luck and Happy CHRISTOPHER GEORGE Day!

My fave Christopher George moment is in Gates of Hell when he keeps looking back at the grave… did I hear screaming? Nah, couldn’t be… hmmmn….

Can I just first say it is a travesty that I have to do laundry on Christopher George’s birthday?

    It just seems wrong.

    Eegah,

I found the Whiskey Mountain poster hanging above my couch in the den

and the Dixie Dynamite poster was hanging above my bed.

Nah, I have my ways though.

I have to admit to never having heard of either of those movies till yesterday but I had to make sure I had ten images!

Here is the trailer for Dixie Dynamite-looks good!

(I don’t know what the hell is goin on with Youtube But I can no longer leave videos in the comments which really pisses me off!)

Alright, I had to go digging, because I just don’t remember each of the 3,000,000 ninja movies that came out in the 80s, but I’m pretty sure now that #8 is Enter The Ninja, which I’ve actually got a copy of somewhere.

    btw, I’m not sure I’ve heard of Something is Out There… Must… see… Must… see…

  • 16 Amanda By NightNo Gravatar // Feb 25, 2011 at 10:27 am

I believe the main photo on IMDb is from Enter the Ninja. That white suit stood out to me.

    Amanda,

Here is the weird thing… “Something is out There” is really “Day of the Animals” ! I guess they changed the movie’s entire ad campaign and tried to hide the plot completely. The poster for “There’s Something Out There is just as cool and tells you just as little.

Oh, hilarious! Then I HAVE seen it! Whew! It’s a cool trailer…

And I meant the main photo of George on his IMDb page is from Enter. I think the way I wrote it was confusing.

    George, George, GEORGE!

That is so weird. When I first saw it i thought that scene lasted FOREVER and now it seems so concise… the brain is a strange & delightful thing.

Btw, that picture of George all young making a Devil sign is from Bewitched! He played a Warlock named George who transforms into a raven!

Let me just comment on something that occurs in the trailer for SOMETHING IS OUT THERE, and is actually a rampant 70’s phenomon in movie trailers; it all ends with the narrator’s voice pitched more dire and extreme then ever, warning us about our worst nightmares and most unspeakable fears. Then, with the same dire voice, after all this pomp and over-blown narrative, he is forced to say “Rated PG”. I love when this happens.

December 11th is Lynda Day George’s birthday.

    Just sayin’….

Christopher George is the perfect 70s B-movie leading man–all leathery skin and perpetual grimace. GRIZZLY and DAY OF THE ANIMALS make a terrific double bill.

Gates of Hell had some kind of release as City of the Living Dead in the UK before being banned during the video nasties moral panic.I managed to watch it and when the drill goes into the guy’s head the screen went to static and it made it seem like IT MUST HAVE BEEN REAL.I couldn’t believe it when I saw it uncut years later and it just goes to a terrible model and is CLEARLY NOT REAL.Also the ending…what?
