Hey look it’s my hero BRAD DOURIF in a TOTO video! What makes this video exceptionally kindertraumatic is that it is based on the classic HAYLEY MILLS film WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND. In that film HAYLEY and her kiddie pals give refuge to a wanted criminal who they believe is Jesus Christ. It’s based on a book written by MARY HAYLEY BELL, HAYLEY MILLS real life mommie. HAYLEY‘s sister JULIET starred in the 1974 Italian EXORCIST wannabe BEYOND THE DOOR!

Done here? These fine folks will take good care of you!

Awesome video, I had actually forgotten about it. Loved the white line man.

In fact, that book and movie inspired this little known collaboration of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jim Steinman. Unfortunately, like “Dance of the Vampires”, it didn’t find any success in the US, although it did have a tour a few years ago with the reworked version.

This is a cool video! I love Toto and videos with a storyline. Another cool black and white video with a story is Richard Marx’s Hazard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgJffiGHz7M
It even has Robert Conrad as the sheriff. Does anyone else remember his Eveready battery commercials from the 70′s?

Mickster! You posted a link to Hazard! I’m in love! I always tell the youngin’s about that video. I believe it was so popular they were going to make a sequel.
Btw, am I the only one who thinks Courtney Thorne Smith and Richard Marx look exactly alike?!? Weird!
Robert Conrad. All I can say is – hawt!
btw, I’ve never heard of Whistle Down the Wind, but that was a pop song too, right? Not attached to the movie, I presume but the same title. I used LaDracul’s link to see it was sung by Nick Heyward (and quite good too!).

Unk, I was thinking while watching the commercial, “I remember him being a lot older.” It is funny how your view of age changes as you get older. Amanda, Yes! Someone else that appreciates the awesomeness of this video. Who do you think killed Mary? I always though it was the sheriff.

OK, I just re-watched it and the 80s nerd got chills! That’s right – chills!
It HAD to be the sheriff. I think the giveaway is when he’s driving alongside her. The way he’s looking at her says one of two things: 1. either he’s obsessed with Mary (that actress was lovely, btw), or 2. she was the opportunity to rid the town of the Marx character. Either way, it was a dirty deed done dirt cheap!
Also, when Conrad was in his prime, around the 70s, you could break a brick on his ass. There I said it!
btw, I’m OK with Mary’s death, since it meant Marx cut off the mullet!
