Finial on lamp, phone cord, headboard, belt buckle, print on skirt, wall behind picture, fold in bedspread, Norman’s hair, image lightened. Damn, I can’t find the tenth one.
I loved the pilot! Freddie Highmore is just awesome, and so is Vera Farmiga.

I can’t find the tenth one either…

But did you guys watch the first episode? I admit I was a little weirded out when they revealed that it was taking place in the present (which wasn’t very clear at first, from Norman and Norma’s fashions and the state of the hotel when they arrive), but I quickly decided that I’d prefer a full-on reboot to a canonical prequel, especially in series form. There’s been so many sequels and variations – of varying quality – over the years that I think a complete offshoot like this is justified.

I have a couple of complaints, but I don’t want to get into spoiler territory without written permission…

Oh, also: I taped the original Bates Motel pilot when it aired in (circa) 1987(?) and watched it several times, though even then I recognized it as pretty weak…I was a 9-year-old with strict parents who was starved for horror content, so I took what I could get. I did think that Bud Cort was a good Norman Bates surrogate.

Unk,

LOL – thanks for letting me know it hasn’t been lightened. It looked lighter to me, but that could have just been a trick of my goofy screen. :o)

One of the lines carved into the headboard is gone. And how could I have missed the extra wave in the painting?! Shame on me.

Once again, good one!!
