Dear Kindertrauma,

Thank you for such an entertaining blog. I adore it!

I was wondering if you and your readers could help me with the title of a movie. I only know one scene; I must've flipped to it on T.V. and got freaked out and changed it right away but *now* I want to see the whole thing!

Anyway, this would be either the late eighties or early nineties. I am pretty sure it was a made-for-T.V. film as well. This is my memory: Two creepy-looking young ladies, identical twins, in their mid twenties or so, stare at a frightened looking man standing before them. I believe there is a vanity or mirrors nearby. The twins are holding a porcelain doll. They say, in unison, "We share everything." And then the doll cracks right down the middle! Thats all I remember.

I remember watching this in the late '80s. A group out in the wilderness (possibly couples), being stalked or with a sadistic type of leader. The scene that sticks in my mind: The group encounters a dead animal (a bird I think) and a woman is coerced by her husband or boyfriend to strip and dance like a native around said bird. She is fully nude and he cheers it on while taking pictures (I think) and she appears humiliated while the others look disgusted.

I'm pretty sure it's a Canadian flick. Don't think it's DEATH WEEKEND, although I haven't seen it.

Can anyone help?

I have a scene in my mind from when I was a wee lad in the early seventies and I have no idea from which film it plays. Not much to go on. This is what I see in my mind's eye: Color film. Maybe a HAMMER feel to it. A greenhouse/garden inside of a mansion. I think the decor might have feet a little Victorian or Old South. In the greenhouse are these flowers with small, proboscis like stigma or stamen which are bloody red drippy. These things drank blood. A couple of people are standing around and talking about the flowers, maybe getting ready for a feeding and a murder.

That is all I can remember.

Hello, KinderTrauma!

There are two episodes that I can't get out of my head. Both of them are fragments from some animated film (or films??). Could be anime. It was about 15 years ago, and I was very young at that time, so it's more of describing my impression the fragment has left than describing the actual fragment. Anyway, the first scene takes place in some kind of a cave or a high-ceilinged underground hall with walls of dark grey stone. One of the characters is standing on the floor (he or she is unimportant), along with the spectator's POV, looking up, at the other character, a woman wearing some kind of khaki coveralls, who is hanging high under the ceiling with no visible ropes or straps around her – something or someone is holding her there. And then she says – I don't remember the exact wording, but the idea is that, uh… "Invisible pincers are tearing her apart" – she is squirming and groaning and then she bursts apart and her intestines fall down, towards the spectator.

The other fragment is preceded by a short scene in an ordinary apartment. A girl and a guy are chatting, and then the girl goes to the bathroom and starts undressing, because she's going to take a shower. And in the mirror there appears a silhouette of some pale, dragon-like creature, which the girl does not notice. The traumatic part is the fragment of a fight between a guy with black hair and dark eyes (the one from the apartment, I guess), and a creature (could be the one from the mirror) with very pale, bluish white skin. The creature is anthropomorphic and looks effeminate and somewhat artificial – as if it was made of rubber. They fight either on the roof of a multistory building or in the air. And I think it is night time. At some point during the fight the creature tears the black-haired guy's hand off. This moment is depicted with relish, I mean, it's grotesquely vivid – the bones crunch, the blood is gushing from the wound, and the guy's writhing with pain… In addition, this image is contrasted by another one that either precedes or follows it (memory fails me here) – the black-haired guy hacks the bluish creature's hand off with some sharp tool – and the stump doesn't bleed – the cut (also bluish) looks nice and clean, and tastefully raw, like a piece of fish in a sushi roll. And the creature looks… nonchalant, really, utterly unimpressed.

I didn't wake up at night after seeing this, I had no bad dreams connected with these episodes, and I don't even remember being actually scared. But I do remember the feeling of, so to say, temporary emotional numbness – like it happens when you see something very disturbing and fall into a stupor for some time.

Also, since it's been a long time, I wonder if these episodes are exactly the way I remember them. Probably not. I guess it would be quite a surprise to find out how much my memory and imagination have distorted them.

So if anyone, by any chance, recognizes these fragments, I would be very glad to know, because they have been bothering me for many years.

There's a movie I'd really like to track down because a scene from it traumatized me as a child. The only thing I remember from the movie was a scene taking place in the desert and (I think) some sort of battle was taking place. Then a big man wearing a turban (again, I think it was a turban) puts on a ring and his head starts spinning around and around. Cursed ring, I guess. Anyways, I freaked out when I saw that, and was wondering if you ever remember seeing a similar scene to the one I described.

I have a problem I'm hoping you might be able to solve. I've been having flash backs of a movie or T.V. show I saw as a child. It involved two young sisters, one of course was evil and hated the other one. In an attempt to murder her sister by lighting her on fire, the evil sister hides a birthday candle behind her back, the eventual accident ensues and she lights her own hair on fire, severely burning herself in the process. I wish to find this movie and re-watch it, please tell me you've seen this or know what I'm looking for.

Hey Kindertrauma, I have a bit of a puzzler for you!

About 7 or 8 years ago, when I was quite young, I remember house-sitting with my dad while my aunt was in the hospital giving birth. My dad turned on a horror movie, and for some reason or another, I watched it with him, and it's stuck with me to today! All I can remember is that it (at least the later part of it) takes place on a ship, where there is a fancy dinner where all the guests are fed rat poison. There is a montage of them choking up blood and dying, and later in the movie one of the characters (protagonist? antagonist?) is impaled by a hook violently and swings there, dead. The movie is quite darkly lit, if I remember, though some of these details may not be fact.

Anyone have any idea what movie this is?

Hi there,

While my movie is not ghost or witches scary, it creeped the hell out of me as a kid. But I cannot find it anywhere. All I can remember is a young boy on a space ship kind of thing and there is a giant blob type being that looks like a Jabba the Hut, that either the boy or another blob boy keep calling "Uncle" in a really creepy voice!
