I kept looking at the first picture and thinking, “that looks so familiar.” As it turns out, it’s the front of the library of my alma mater, UNC-Wilmington, where I spent many hours as I pursued my first degree — a B.A. in English, with an emphasis on Classic Literature and a minor in Literary Criticism. Good times, good times. They also filmed portions of KONG LIVES in the old Wilmington Police Station, and at Cape Fear Community College, where I earned some transfer credits to go to UNC-W at the time; they kept the prop signage up for quite some time. FIRESTARTER was filmed in Wilmington, too, and I worked as an extra on that. And they filmed MAXIUMUM OVERDRIVE there, and CAT’S EYE — these last three being Stephen King efforts. The Joker face from that semi was in Wilmington for many years until it started making the movie convention circuit…
