The Dunsmuir mansion (#1) also appeared in Phantasm and some other flicks. You can still get tours these days – probably decorating for Christmas right now. I went there back in the day and it was pretty dumpy but I understand that they have used the tour money to fix it up a bit.

Chuckles72 – it was also used in the James Bond movie A View to a Kill (terrible film with a great theme song by Duran Duran).
A couple of these houses remind me of the one from a movie I can't remember the name of. A bunch of girls stay in a house by the seashore and they go missing one by one. i believe cannibalism was involved. There's one unforgettable scene where this strange young guy is on the shore smashing a small shark onto a rock in a bizarre rage that's never really explained.
The movie had the feel and cinematography of a late 70's flick.

BDW – sounds like we need a Name that Trauma for this. Not that they have a huge success rate but still….

Semi-random guess – the lower bumper isn’t Thanksgiving, is it? One of the main characters is a cop, so the idea floated across my mind this morning for an obvious reason.
That shark scene is really disturbing ! I have to believe it was faked but who knows back then.
Hope everyone has a good thanksgiving tomorrow
Thanks to all who played!

Dr. Nick and Unkle Lancifer – I think the original camera negative for Silent Night, Bloody Night has been lost for eons, probably forever. What survives are theatrical prints, I believe. I love that movie, but it's never moved past DVD because the surviving material isn't good enough for anything better.

Ah, yes, Unk, that's it! I imagine they bought the small shark from a fishmonger and it was already dead when they shot the scene. Or, I hope so. The scene felt so disjointed and surreal, when I was trying to remember where it was from, my only thought was, "Did I dream this or was this real?" But, as you can tell, the scene is indelibly burned into my psyche.
Nonetheless, Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Enjoy the turkey and don't beat any baby sharks to death, if you can help it. (I know it can be challenging sometimes but, in the end, it's just wrong.)
