Happy Memorial Day!

May 30th, 2016 by unkle lancifer · 4 Comments

UNK SEZ: Happy Memorial Day to all! My apologies that things have been so quiet around here as of late, but sadly my dear computer has died and gone to computer heaven (or hell). I can use your Aunt John’s but it’s kinda like borrowing a bathing suit or a pair of glasses; it’s just not the same. Plus let’s face it, a blog post and dollar bill won’t buy ya a cup of coffee these days. Don’t worry we’ll be back to bother you soon enough. In the meantime, go on outside and enjoy some semi fresh air! Eat a popsicle!

🙁 What type of computer did you have? Laptop or desktop? Mac or Windows?

Hey, bdwilcox! It was a 4 year old mac laptop. I don’t know why they seem to die on me every 4 years. I hardly even put anything on it! I didn’t even use the itunes! I think we’re just going through that everything breaking at the same time thing. Hopefully it’ll be over soon.

You’ll definitely want to have Apple look at it since many 2011 & 2012 MacBooks fall under an extended warranty program Apple was offering to avoid a class action suit. Many MacBooks of that era die due to defective video chips and Apple not only replaces the boards for free but reimburses owners if they had a 3rd party repair performed on them. It’s worth a shot.

On the other hand, if it’s your hard drive that died, that’s a cheap and easy repair ($40 for a 120GB SSD). Replacing a hard drive with an SSD will also make it feel like a new machine.

Thank you so much, bdwilcox! I will give it a shot!
