UNK SEZ: Below are ten images from the anthology series MASTERS OF HORROR. Can you name the episodes and the directors behind them? Apologies in advance if anyone is not familiar with the series because that would render today’s puzzle kinda impossible for you. Don’t fret though, The good news is that both seasons of this great show are available free to watch on Tubitv and it’s never too late to check it out!
#5 is Joe Dante’s Homecoming, which I absolutely love.
#6 – The Screwfly Solution
#7 – It’s been a LONG time since these originally aired but #7 sure looks like Brian Benben in John Landis’ DEER WOMAN. I remember really liking that episode and thinking that Landis still had the ability to merge comedy and horror.
#4. Pick Me UP
#5. Homecoming (one of my favorites)
Is 3 Fair Haired Child?
#1 – Jenifer
oops, I forgot #1- directed by Dario Argento
#9- Incident On and Off a Mountain Road-Don Coscarelli
I re-watched a few of these recently on Tubi and well….they didn’t hold up well at all for me. Pretty terrible actually.
Oops, I didn’t name directors.
And if #3 is Fair Haired Child, then William Malone.
Also, is 10 Dreams in the Witch House-Stuart Gordon
I had a feeling this wouldn’t be the most popular puzzle but sometimes I just gotta follow my heart- thanks for indulging me this week!
I’ve been watching these back to back this weekend
Robstercraws, I’m having the opposite experience as you, I’m actually liking these better than when they came out. I think because my expectations are lower. In a few cases they represent the directors last strong contribution to horror. .
1 JENNIFER- Dario Argento- right on crabbymoon!
3 THE FAIR HAIRED CHILD from William Malone- awesome Kathryngrace
4 PICK ME UP- love ths one from Larry Cohen! Nice job kathryngrace!
5 HOMECOMING from the great Joe Dante! Yay SmallDarkCloud &kathryngrace!
7 DEER WOMAN –John Landis= forgot there was a reference to AMERICAN WEREWOLF in this & it takes place in the same universe! Right on Treecat and Dr. Nick!
9 INCIDENT ON AND OFF A MOUNTAIN ROAD= excellent Robstercraws!
10 DREAMS IN THE WITCH HOUSE= Stuart Gordon= awesome kathryngrace. I think this one is my absolute favorite of all. They could have added 20 minutes and made it into a movie> I love the lead Walter Gilman who was also in DAGON – wish he collaborated with Gordon more. Makes me really sad we lost Gordon this year.
So only missed 3! That’s not bad at all !
2 = SICK GIRL from Luck McGee – love Angela Bettis in this one. She cracks me up.
6 = CIGARETTE BURNS by the ultimate master John Carpenter- I forgot Norman Reedus was in this! I feel like this one really fits in good with PRINCE OF DARKNESS and IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS
8= IMPRINT from Takashi Miike= aw and we lost Billy Drago too. The years have not been kind.
Thanks to everyone who played! Hope you are all having a fun and safe weekend!
