I loved this movie as a kid. Strangely, the really scary stuff didn’t spook me at all, but when that damn statue head started talking (made even creepier with the british accent), I was left with some good old fashioned nightmare fuel. To this day, every time I see a mannequin, I can’t help but picture that scene.

And to this day, I still want a clockwork owl!

I don’t know why the people who did the remake killed the somewhat whimsical nature of this…all they did is turn it into “God of War”, IMO. And no, putting Jason Fleymyng in it isn’t making me want to see it.
Although it’d be better if this happened in the remake-

Can’t forget my first viewing of the original. Didn’t eat breakfast, pigged out on candy and popcorn, got sick to my stomach and had to be rushed to the bathroom by my sister. Thankfully did not miss much and was back for the rock em sock climax. One boy behind us was scared shitless of the Kraken.

Sometimes for no apparent reason I have to say, “Release the Kraken!”  I showed Clash of the Titans to my 7th graders last year while studying mythology. (Don’t worry, I have a special DVD player that cuts out naughty stuff like boobs and butts.) After watching it, they understood the Kraken comment.

Who’s Playing Burgess Meredith’s Role? I almost got annoyed at the shiny/filmy shot of Liam as Zeus, and then it hit me that it was looked exactly like Sir Laurence’s footage in the original.

I felt I had to run one more thing by y’all. In Worthington’s last two major films, Terminator Salvation and Avatar,  I by far, enjoyed the first half of both films than second half, because of his presence. In both cases he was “finding himself” as the character at the beginning, and the second half was so much sound and fury (as Hollywood wishes it to be). One can only hope his handlers will let him take on a “real” picture sometime soon.

I believe that’s Pete Posthilswaite (sp?) in the Burgess Meredith role.
Though if it was up to me, I would’ve put Will Kemp as Perseus…because after “Step Up 2”, his career needs a boost.

oh god. Looking at the picture of the witches reminds me of the other reason I was wigged out in that scene. (besides the whole missing eyes thing) Didn’t a hand pop up out of their cauldron?

Chris DeBurg’s Don’t Pay the Ferryman always made me think of Clash of the Titans.
